Morning all, the Tesco food order is coming between 12-1 today, ds has a friend coming round later, other than that the day will be spent making progress on the flat. I have already cleaned out the cutlery drawer while I was making coffee this morning and the dishwasher is also loaded and doing its thing.

I am still slightly apprehensive about all of this, there is a flat near me that has been up for sale since early December, it is nothing like my flat inside, doesn't have a garage and isn't as nice as mine but it is still a flat above a shop and doesn't appear to be selling :o I'm also concerned by the lack of stuff available that I like the look of but that can change daily so I know I need to stop being wobbly about this and crack on with it. Even if mine doesn't sell I will still know that everything has been done and it's all spick and span and nicer to live in again ;)

Tesco's have been, no substitutes this week which was nice. The delivery man is a Bournemouth fan too so we had a chat about the footie for a bit :)

I have done three loads of washing, hoovered through, emptied the dishwasher and helped ds do his bedroom.

A friend of mine has had new carpet fitted recently and recommended a local place on an industrial estate. Anyway I have just been down there and the guy is coming round on thursday between 4 - 5pm to measure up, I explained I'm moving and just need to replace carpet and he said then they can probably leave the current underlay / gripper rods etc down and just replace the actual carpet, he reckons it should cost roughly £750 - £800 which would be fabulous as I'd reckoned on around £2k :money: Let's see what he says when he comes round.

As for the rest of today I am planning on spending the next couple of hours trying to find people online to (a) fix & clean the oven [STRIKE]again [/STRIKE], (b) fix the front door and also do all the surveys from my inbox.

Morning all, I've found someone to do the front door, just need to give him a call, will do that this week. Today is a fab footie day so that will take up a hunk of the day, as well as a Sunday roast (beef) and hopefully Mum will be coming round for that too.

More tidying / cleaning / sorting going on, lots of list making too I reckon. Only 3 and a half more work days to get through then it's full steam ahead with preparing this place for sale. Ds is away for the next three weekends, (his dads, then grandparents, then dads again) so I can crak on uninterrupted those times.

The sun is coming out and already it looks like being a nice day here, time to fling open the windows and let the Spring in :)

The oven cleaner man has just emailed me, the email had gone to his junkbox so he hadn't seen it, hopefully that will be fixed soon then :)

I also need to find a handyman to sort the kitchen cupboard door and also the outside light (Mr S very unhelpfully cut through the wire once when we were putting up xmas lights outside :( ).

At least the jobs that I need people in for are getting fixed, then it's just down to me to sort the decorating and stuff. I did another run to the tip this morning before I collected Mum, just a few bits and pieces but I figure if I keep getting rid of bits and bobs it will make the job easier when it comes to packing. The tip is on the way to mums so it's not a problem for me to go there.

We had our roast for lunch today so now are vegging nicely in front of the telly, watching the footie :)

The oven man has just been, it is the element that has gone, so he has ordered a new part for me and will be back to fix it on April 6th. For the part, the fitting and cleaning the double oven its £100 which seems pretty good to me. Another step on the way to getting this place sorted :)

Whoop whoop the holidays are here :j :j For some reason I have been wide awake since 4.20 this morning, so have already put the ironing away, emptied and reloaded the ddishwasher, made packed lunches, got ready for work, tidied the lounge and my bedroom, made the bed, checked the banking, filed some paperwork and sorted out the first load of washing to be done.

I do have the small matter of going to work to get out the way before the holidays can properly begin, but it is only until 12.20 so not too bad really :D

The carpet man is coming round between 4-5 tonight to measure up and for me to choose a colour - not too worried, just want something neutral.

Ds is going to his Dads tonight, I'm not seeing Mr S until saturday night so I will be mainly concentrating on my bedroom over the weekend and getting that underway, its the biggest job to get done I think in the flat so will be good to get going on that uninterrupted.

    Forgot to add - banking;

£500 tax credits gone in today so moved across to the savings pot and £110 council tax budgeted for but doesn't go out this month, so that's been moved across too. Signature updated :)

That seems about right, I paid £79 for a new element and fitting from a local shop, so if they are cleaning the oven as well seems reasonable.

Woohoo, made it through the half day at work - it was a full-on day despite being a short one, anyway, it's done and I now have 17 days of no alarm clock and 17 days to get my flat ready for sale :)

Thanks FebruaryCat, I had no idea what to expect price-wise so it's good to hear your experience :)
