  • Going through an unbelievable experience with Click Mechanic. Contacted them due to steam from under the bonnet and a ABS light on. Paid £44 to diagnose needed a service and a new hose. Later that week mechanic collected car, carried out a service and repaired the hose. After he returned car I checked the coolant tank to discover it was empty. Contacted mechanic who said I needed a new radiator. Took my car away again at end of July and that is last I have seen of car, In the meantime I have been told my turbo has blown, my head gasket is blown, the hoses have all collapsed, and the latest my cambelt has snapped. Told me car was beyond repair. And that it cost £120 to get car towed to his yard. And would I pay for radiator and parts. This was last Monday 18th, told him I was on holiday out of country until 24th September and will deal with it when I'm back. Didn't hear anymore until got home last night and a note from Police to say to contact them due to my car been currently abandoned on side of road. Rang Police this morning who think car has been abandoned in a layby ,and are investigating.
Don't even think of using this outfit, the idea in principal is sound but clearly they use incompetent mechanics and some dubious characters.
Anyway Police have confirmed car is abandoned, and I was to collect it. Went this afternoon, rear window smashed and battery disconnected, but lots of mechanical issues. Iv ended up getting the car picked up and taken to the local dismantlers, who said it had been there for 3weeks.
I will now ask Click Mechanic to refund the service as misdiagnosis, as for the mechanic who abandoned my car, how do I deal with him, because the radiator job wasn't done through Click Mechanic, but direct with him. Thoughts?

Take the car elsewhere. How did they take money from his account? He must have given them the payment details.

I had a service done at a VW main dealer giving my Golf a clean bill of health except it required a new water pump. The car was 9 years old with 42000+ miles at the point of service so rather than pay main dealer costs (£569) I went to CLICKMECHANIC a web based booking firm for car repairs who gave the job to one of their designated mechanics [SPANNERWORKS] for £282.
Approx 140 miles after the work was done the engine suffered a mechanical breakdown - the engine is a total write off.
After 7 weeks of inaction and denial by CLICKMECHANIC as well as different stories as to the root cause from two of their designated mechanics [SPANNERWORKS and Darren at MOBILEAUTOCARE] I had the car recovered to VW Bromley by Darren.
My combined costs for work across Darren and Spanner total over approx £700 and the car did have a market value of approx £4000 - now zero
VW Bromley have inspected the car and written a letter stating the engine write off was a direct result of the work carried out by CLICKMECHANIC whose mechanic had carried out the water pump work. Remedial costs are over £8000 so the car is a write off.
This letter has been sent to CLICKMECHANIC who have yet to respond.
BTW their customer service is awful - a very thin veneer - do not be fooled by ''Ted'' - he is not on your side and to date CLICKMECHANIC have done everything to deny responsibility.

My beloved Audi is due a full service. I use it daily to commute and now its due a service.

I normally get this done at a local garage for around £170 and they say they use the proper oil etc etc.

A friend came across Click Mechanic on the web and suggested i try them out, being that they travel to you this is a massive help as i work long hours.

Apart from the reviews online, has anybody here used them? How did they find them?
I paid one of their mechanics, Lee's Autos in Windsor-Slough £500 to replace a Thermostat Housing because of a leak, 5 months later the same leak was back and both Click Mechanic and their mechanic Lee's Autos in Windsor-Slough refused to honor the 12 months warranty of his previous work refusing a refund.
Click Mechanic do not check their mechanics and their warranty is a useless promise.
  • Absolute joke, got robbed of £90 cash on top of the job I paid for, said needed new Callipers aswell cash only, took cash and ran when I checked hadn't replaced, lost my spare key fob Which i paid £250 3 mnts prior for, the guy who collected decided he couldn't be bothered to use the winch and drag the car on the back of the truck so ragged the car with seized brakes up the ramp burning the hell out of the clutch so yeah thanks click mechanic and good luck contacting anyone for help or renumeration once they have your cash its so long sucker!!!
  • I got over charged. When I complained customer service is utterly useless. I was robbed big time. They don’t care. Steer clear.
  • Take the car elsewhere. How did they take money from his account? He must have given them the payment details.
