ClickMechanic Reviews

My beloved Audi is due a full service. I use it daily to commute and now its due a service.

I normally get this done at a local garage for around £170 and they say they use the proper oil etc etc.

A friend came across Click Mechanic on the web and suggested i try them out, being that they travel to you this is a massive help as i work long hours.

Apart from the reviews online, has anybody here used them? How did they find them?

havent used click mechanic but used servicing stop a couple of times which is a similar service and so far have not had any major problems - and they currently have a 'sale' on the services so is even cheaper.

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
  • If you have a long standing relationship with a good local garage who do the job properly and look after you, you should keep that relationship going as long as possible.
Does you local garage have a runner they could let you borrow for a day whilst your car is in being attended to.

Ask friends and family to recommend a local garage to you. Schemes like this cost money and they have to add their marketing budget to your bill. Additionally as they are paying for them, they always attract more positive reviews than would appear credible.

I have a nice large, flat drive and a set of tools that would fit in a car boot. When the weather is good I service my car for £40 in parts cost. I could easily put my tools in the boot and go and service a car. If it took me a day to service one car I would make £130 (£16.25 per hour). Would have to run a car and pay liability insurance. Wouldn't like to attend a customer without flat surface or in pouring rain. If I was a customer I would like the fact that I know exactly who is working on my car and there is a greater chance that I would get a service rather than just a stamp. If I needed help maintaining my car I would definitely try and find a good mobile mechanic.

Which Audi is it? Best thing is get the parts yourself and tell a good local independent to carry out the service and a full vehicle inspection.

Yeah, because all garages love that, Darkmatter.

Ignore this stupid post by Dark Matter, he should really stick to his stupid question threads and stop trying to give advice.

Buy the parts yourself and then watch a mobile mechanic fit them. Not a bad idea.

At least you know the garage is using the right oil grade. I've heard many times garages use the wrong oil for cars that need specific oil. Mate had a 1.9 tdi that only takes fully synthetic oil only 504/507 spec oil and the garage stupidly used 10w-40 semi-synthetic that he probably uses for all vehicles. My friend immediately got an oil change a week later to prevent any damage but never got a refund.

No, you'd know you took the right oil in, unless you're now going to claim you actually stand over them and watch them actually put the oil into the car.

How did your friend find out they'd used the wrong oil, another one of your testing kits? No, it's just another DM lie.
