new BT 50% off offer - BT Sport pack and TV activation fee cheaper than online only??

Hi, BT are offering this new online deal that looks pretty cheap. I'm on Talktalk broadband now and am only getting 8mb/s speed when lucky so it's time to switch to BT who I've heard have decent speeds. I also want to watch Champions league football which is in their standard BT sport pack.

For some reason, if you get BT TV (includes Sport pack and online/app access) it's free plus £14 activation fee, but if you don't get TV and only watch online or via apps, it's £5 a month.

This doesn't make sense, am I missing something? I'm looking at the 38mb, unlimited usage and BT sport package here.

ps: Also I'd like them to post the router in 2 weeks after I sign up as I'm on holiday...might take 2 weeks to switch from Talktalk anyway.
