Hi
Does anyone have a car camera. Am looking at the Transcend DrivePro 220 at the moment partly because it has a motion sensor for when the car is parked. The drawback being that someone might break in just to steal the cameral as it would still be on display.
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or tips. Is it worth finding one that has a front and rear camera. Some that I've seem seem to record mainly the interior and the passengers according to the reviews. Which wouldn't seem that helpful.
Anyone got any thoughts?

If you are happy to pay the extra £40 for the features that the 220 has over the 200 then go ahead.
I have the Drive-Pro 200 and I'm very happy with it.
I bought a 32GB card for it so that I could have a full days recording in one go.
GPS and a motion sensor when parked were of little interest to me, but you may feel it justifies the extra cost.
I was more interested in the clarity of the pics and being able to read number-plates.
As fora rear-facing camera I think the only real solution would be to have 2 separate cameras - but where does one stop?
Perhaps 4 cameras are needed - or a 360 degree job on the roof?
I think the day is coming when all cars will have cameras built in to the numberplate frame front and rear.
Just like all new cars are soon to have eCall - emergency telephone kit that will connect to the emergency services in the event of an accident- operated automatically by on-board sensors.
Only 10 years or so ago that would have been thought unnecessary / not possible and/or crazy.0 -

Of course if you drive an Aston Martin in Hackney then a dash cam left in the car is an absolute must.

It makes you wonder why the guy keyed the car?0 -

The coppers must have got him by now, that was beyond a fantastic mugshot of him.
The most key scrape boy could afford was a grand worth's of a baby buggy! To55ers like him are just jealous. Having said that good on the AM owner for having the camera fitted.0 -
Techmoan channel on Youtube. He has reviewed just about every dashcam available.
I chose the Mobius because it's size makes it very discreet when mounted between rear view mirror and windscreen.0 -
Thank you. Looking at the Mobius now and seems very impressive.0

Auto Express says the Transcend 200 every time. Looks like the one I'm going to buy..'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
I have opinions, you have opinions. All of our opinions are valid whether they are based on fact or feeling. Respect other peoples opinions, stop forcing your opinions on other people and the world will be a happier place.0 -
Exemplar - have you looked at the Mobius or know someone who has it?
I'm taking on board your point about Auto Express as well. I'm not a 'tech' person so I want to make sure I get a good one rather than one that's proves useless.0
