Samsung washing machine making holes in my tops

Agree with Rach - if it is always in the same place then something is happening outside of the machine (even if the machine may make it worse). Some people think it is the material getting rubbed when they stand at a worktop or up against the sink.0

So the holes are only appearing in tops? I was going to suggest moths, but they would make holes wherever. As other people have said, it seems unlikely that a washing machine would only damage tops, and always in the same place. All I could think of was maybe something like little drops of bleach getting sprayed onto your clothes when you open a bottle?
How about testing it out by handwashing your tops for a while and seeing if the problem carries on.0 -
Is it that eco bubble one? We had them in the laundry at our apartments (but the industrial version) but they had to be removed as they were damaging clothing and bedding. Also, when a machine damages clothes it tends not to be trousers/jeans as the material is both thicker (so less likely to be pulled into the small holes) and stronger.0

From speaking to the Samsung engineer again today, he thinks it's a combination of clothes rubbing against things when being worn, coupled with a harsh wash cycle on the machine, which is 'called daily wash'
I am now thinking that the Samsung programme is too harsh for most clothes as many of the clothes that it put holes in had only been worn once or twice so couldn't have had any damage caused to them by wear. The engineer said to wash the tops on delicates function.
The engineer also said there was someone else that was having the same problems as us. Not great when you have spent £619 on a washing machine.1 -
Having had a quick look at the manual for your machine I can feel your pain. I can't see anywhere that tells you what actually happens during a "daily wash" cycle. Assuming the things that are damaged are synthetic & have the synthetic care label (a single line under the tub) then you'll have to use a synthetic programme for those.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I bought a Samsung washing machine a few months ago. I haven't had this problem. It's the best washing machine I've ever had. I find the spin is so good that I only set it at 800 even for towels.
I didn't know that the "daily wash" cycle was harsh-I've only used it a couple of times but assumed it would be a quick and gentle wash as clothes wouldn't be dirty.
I hope you find a solution.0 -
Had same problem and worked out the little holes in the garments are the same size as the holes in the plastic "spines" in the drum so decided the machines was dragging the fabric into these holes on fast spin. Now wash all delicates and cotton tees in zipped mesh bags at low temperature. So far seems to be working.1
