If someone who's not a friend but has mutual Facebook friends adds pictures of you (untagged because you're not friends or if you decline mutual friends tag requests), and others at an event but you find them unflattering (ok they're not visible on your profile but they're out there in the domain), and if the person doesn't want to delete them, can you ask facebook to delete them?

No. You can ask the person who took the photo to remove it but it's their photo they can do what they like with it.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Whoever took the photos owns them (and the copyright ©) and they are free to do what they wish with them. Unless they are nude photos and they are distributing them all over the place then that's illegal and akin to revenge !!!!!! but I'm guessing that's not the case or Facebook would have removed them already.0

Afraid as others have said you're out of luck.
If you really look that bad you could maybe report them to facebook for being offensive
