I might try some of these books - just started getting back inot using the library for reference stuff (buy all my fictyion books from the charity shop that way the y benefit from my cash and I'm in no rush to read them thereby incurring late fees when i forget to renew them!). Any help on the money saving good as myself and the fiancee selling and buying our place this year and getting married next year!!
Thanks for the ideas,

Have a look at the school days recipes tread as there are loads of good old fashioned money saving recipes on there. Those school cooks had to work on a really tight budget and in the 60's and 70's made it taste great (especially those puds) without resorting to a turkey twizzler!0

I've got Thrift by India Knight on order from my local library at the moment. Haven't read any reviews so can't comment further as yet.

I'm not saying the book won't be useful to some but if you're really having to tighten your belt then it probably won't help.0 -
The BBC are broadcasting "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" as the book at bedtime on Radio 4 next week. It is a novel in the form of letters and describes everyday life in the Channel Islands in the war, where conditions were very harsh - I've just finished reading it and it certainly made me count my blessings, though I thoroughly enjoyed it.0
