Are there any others that people think are worth a read? (I would of course BORROW from the library and not BUY;) )

Hi guys, I found a thread a while ago...pretty sure it was on here but no matter what I can't seem to find it with the search. Someone was asking you nice people what os books you have found useful. However I didn't subscribe to it:confused: and now can't seem to find it. While starting to get back into my OS MS mode:rolleyes: would like to find the thread. Thanks for any help given to point me in the right direction:D

    - Bubble and Squeak:the leftover cook book ISBN 0-7160-0831-9 (by Jan Arkless) (MCMXCI year - whatever year that is)

    1991 I think.

I love Nella Last's War - the actual diaries of a housewife during the 2nd world war (full of OS inspiration)

Well - yes - 'tis true that that leftovers cookbook would be a good addition to this thread.

Hmmm....I will now go off pondering whether I could manage to reserve library books free online (instead of the expensive charge when I do it in person). I'm not that hopeful - as surely the librarians would have told me I could do this - whenever I complain about the high charge in my area and they promptly agree with me that it is exorbitant compared to other areas. If I didnt know the librarians then I'd just think "oh well - usual service for this country - ie not to tell people something it would be helpful for them to know" - but I am friends with several of them....so I reckon I would have been told. Still - worth a try....
  • If you have any cookery books or OS books in good condition that you were going to take to the charity shop, you could consider donating them to the library so lots of other people can benefit. Our library certainly takes donations - I assume others do.
