Do you have a brand name and model number?
We have discussed it before but it isn't inertia that's stopping me updating it's fear. It was Windows 7 that was suitable for my computer.
I'm using a desktop at the moment but I have been mulling over the idea of buying a laptop I've never had one before. In the winter it would be nice to be able to use the computer and still be able to stay in a warm room.0 -

What do you do on the computer?
For basic browsing etc a tablet would be my choice.
However desktop is king for proper productivity IMO.0 -

I only have my desktop as a means of getting online and no help locally if things go pearshaped so for me it's really not inertia but fear of technology.:)What do you do on the computer?

I've discounted a tablet because I do tasks on sites like Clickworker where I need a decent size screen (the bigger the better for me). Other than that just the usual browsing and watching the occasional programme on iplayer.
The cost will be an issue so it would need to be down the lower end of the price scale for laptops.0 -

Nothing likely to go pearshaped. But you won't even make a start. Get on with it man!
The only issue is the saving of your data to an external source. You'll have to do that by yourself. I'll guide you through everything else.0 -

I may reach a point soon when I will have to bite the bullet and do something but until then I'm just too cowardly.:)0
