Sony battery keeps going flat do I need a new battery?

I have a basic Sony Experia mobile phone which I only use to send and receive text and voice calls. All mobile data services and internet I normally keep turned off, as at present. Usually I can rely on a good 4 days worth of battery use if not more this way. In the last week however it has been draining in around 24 hours. I have checked and there is no external comms going on. I have tried letting it drain right down and recharge but same problem. Is this a sign I need to replace the battery?

I was having a similar problem with my Samsung, and googled instructions on how to re-calibrate the battery (basically you make the phone fully discharge then keep charging incrementally until the battery recovers). I also found that charging with the phone switched off seems to help. Getting replacement batteries can be a pain though and lots of phones are sealed now.
On another point, anyone else find that their phone just seems to slow up after you've had it a while? Mine is 18 months old but it feels like it's really struggling, though it was great to begin with. Maybe they're programmed to self-destruct after a while!0 -
You cannot actually recalibrate the battery its at best a hoax at worst it just does what a battery does .
New battery Anker brand from Amazon is what i would recommend .0 -
