Hi
I entered into a new contract with TT on April 4th for their essentials package priced at £8.50 per month. A few weeks later they sent me an email to tell me it would increase by 20%.
I called them that night to tell them I had only signed up and they said the increase would not affect me.
This was at the start of May and I forgot to check it when that months bill cam in. They have been charging me the increase ever since. I only noticed this increase was being charged after my next experience with them.
On August 14th I rang them to avail of their fiber BB which was on offer at £7.50 per month. I told them I just wanted fiber and nothing else. The first agent told me fiber wasnt available where I live. Which was strange as I live in a city. He transfered me to a technical agent who told me to ignore the first agent as he didnt know what he was talking about as fiber was available in my area.
So the second agent signed me up. And I stated I just wanted fiber and nothing else. Yesterday I received their welcome letter which stated the monthly charges would be
£10 for essential TV
£10 for fiber BB
£16.70 for line rental
I called them again and they said to ignore the letter and my charges would be £5 for essentials (to increase to £10 in October), £7.50 fiber and line rental of £16.70
I told them I didnt want the essentials TV/free calls and they said I would need to pay a downgrade charge of £50 to get this removed!! I argued that on the 14 August I stated I only wanted fiber. They then told me to call their Sales compliance/loyalty team and when I did they basically fobbed me off and more or less didnt believe I only wanted to sign up to fiber.
Is there anything I can do here? I probably only had 30 days to cancel the first contract after they increased the charges after only a few weeks but I did ring and they stated the charge wouldnt apply to me.
I could cancel the fiber (go live is this Monday) but that still leaves me with my original contract which I dont want to have either.
Sorry for the long post but I thought it best to get all the facts down so someone could offer advice
Thanks

Very confusing post .
Are you saying you only want fibre broadband but do not want to pay line rental ??
No line then where is your broadband going to come from >Line Rental required for broadband .0 -
I do expect to pay for line rental. Its the other stuff that comes with their essentials package I dont want - free calls after 6pm and their TV channels0
