TT website is down today - they claim for planned maintenance
But I think otherwise......
What company plans maintenance for a Friday ?

I just rang up TT and went through my problem with an agent for 10 minutes. His reply "sorry but due to planned maintenance we cannot access our system right now so call back in 3 hours"

Can they not say this before customers go into detail what their issue is?

BT are doing maintenance as well . Its a bank holiday i think giving them a longer time frame .

Just tried now to get the Talk talk MSE deal , but the holding page is there.

Bank holiday is next weekend.. not this.. so remember to go to work on Monday

I'm going to guess many of them, so if ti goes wrong there's the weekend to sort it out.

Of course one could do it on Monday then spend Tuesday and Wednesday sorting it out, so three working days are affected rather than just one.

I do server maintenance on evenings and weekends to affect the minimum number of our customers possible (I work for a small software company though, not a big teleco).

Have been trying to access my TalkTalk (tiscali) emails all day. Usually there is a message on the opening page for a few days before if they have 'planned maintenance '. Nothing noted recently, so my guess is there's been another major problem.

As a mobile customer, I've already had the worry of having my details compromised through the Carphone Warehouse data breach fiasco, and in recent weeks I've had my email spammed with thousands of spoof emails.

Talktalk need to start speaking honestly to their customers about what is really going on.

HI Guys, The planned maintenance this weekend was an emergency response for some critical changes. This did affect a number of services including those mentioned above.

The services should all now be restored following corrective work.
Usually our update windows are 2am and maintenance is scheduled for weekends to reduce impact, however this particular instance required an immediate response.
