Thanks for suggesting B&M! One opened up near to me just this year, and I'd yet to go until today. I've come home with lots of Halloween goodiesThey have a much better selection than Wilko which is where I would normally go.

A vote here for charity shops!
I bought this spider costume for 50p when my eldest was 3. She wore it two or three years then after a year's gap my younger daughter wore it for two years.
Sadly I don't think it will fit her this year so this may be the end of an era.
I have a back-up witch's dress I picked up cheap in Tesco the November before last so it doesn't matter that much, it's just a slightly "emotional mummy" moment for meCould you do with a Money Makeover?

Can I make a safety plea? Last year Claudia Winkleman's daughter was badly burned when her witches costume caught fire on a tealite. Although some stores have taken these imflammable costumes off sale, there are still many about in places like Tesco and Wilkinsons.
Please also could you consider using the battery operated tealites instead of real ones, if your lights are on steps or at child height.0 -

We've probably spent about £60 on Halloween. We have a party every year and reuse decorations. Normally we spend less, but OH saw a decoration he really wanted.
Costumes - I bought ds costume in the sainsburys 25% off this week and I'll put it away so that it lasts him two years. Dd's costume was given to us from a relative.
Decorations - we go to the pound shops and home bargains for decorations and sweets.
Games -
Apple bobbing
Mummies - using loo roll from the poundshop and the children turn themselves mummies.
Jelly eating contest - eating jelly without using your hands.
Food
Chicken nuggets and chips.0 -
Is anyone else trawling the shops for cheap halloween goodies today? B&M don't seem to have reduced their halloween stock yet for some reason, but I got some bargains in Sainsbury's - 2 kids masks (I don't have kids, but they fit me OK when I tried them) for 60p each, and a pumpkin wig for £1.80. I'm hoping to get some more stuff tomorrow in Wilkos...
I hope everyone had a happy halloween!0
