Don't hold your breath .... G24 are anything but honest so they'll probably just ignore the request from Homebase.

I was afraid of that. Oh well, I had a few hours thinking something decent and sensible had happened. Poor deluded fool am I.

As long as you have the confirmation from Homebase then that should be fine.

G24 might continue to pursue you, but (a) their case is ruined now you have that confirmation from Homebase and (b) G24 aren't known to do court anyway.

Ok. I'll write to G24 to contest and refer them to the e mail from Homebase if I don't get confirmation of cancellation from them beforehand.

Personally, if it were me, I wouldn't even bother. G24 have never done court.

You could use the IAS appeal route. Usually they reject everything but it would be interesting to see what they do when you have evidence that the principle has cancelled the charge.

Just keep hold of the email from Homebase.

Homebase replied to my follow up e mail about written confirmation from G24:
' This is not something G24 do, I can assure you that this fine has been cancelled and you will hear no further correspondence. '

I'll post again if anything else happens. Thanks for all your time and advice.

If you're up for rattling G24's cage, costing them money and potentially exposing the IAS partiality, send off your initial appeal as if you've heard nothing from Homebase, get a rejection from G24, then send your second stage appeal to the IAS - single appeal point - the principal has cancelled the charge.

Would be interesting to see the outcome!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
