    Thanks for everyones comments.
It seems there is no cut and dried method but I don't really agree with the comments about ending soonest - "if its not sold by then there must be something wrong with it"
I have sold a few things last minute as not everyone sees things when they are first listed.
    Anyway, thanks for comments everyone

BINs seem to be really flying at the moment I don't know why. On my private accounts I usually list only as auction but due to some changes in the way I am working I decided to convert some to 30 day BINs just to get rid of stuff as my house is groaning under the weight of unwanted items. Stuff that was listed a good few times on auction has started shifting on BIN, and by another strange co incidence always about half way through the listing- how weird is that?

I love all the co incidences and patterns on ebay, another one I have noticed is things selling from the same box. I list a lot of vintage and collectable items and have a system where I keep a note of the box where I have stored it. Some items just sit there on BIN for months- then I sell something from a box and within a few hours I sell two or three other things from that same box even though I haven't been near that box for months.

I too have noticed co incidences(weird) goings on.

1st I have an item listed exact same as another ebayer - They have 15 watchers while I had 1 !!!
2nd I have other items and when I do a search nearest distance 1st - none of my items show !!!

then in the last week figures /views have taken off, but when I still do a search - none of my items show, and they say Resolved - technical issue - items not showing in search. Yeah, right.

First listed? If they've already been up 29 days already it's not like they've not had long enough to see it, especially if the item has previously been listed for 30 days and relisted.

It does depend on the item, but if it's an item that usually sells (fairly) well and it's price decently I'd be wondering why after 29 days it hadn't sold. Same goes for rare, but very sought after items.

If it's an item where there's thousands of listings for the exact same thing it's possible people will miss seeing it.

For most I'd say there's usually something that has put people off. Bad photo, bad/no description, confusing description, fault with item, silly statements like not responsible if it goes missing in post or no returns or perhaps a negative feedback comment that makes people unsure how genuine the seller is.

If I saw a BIN didn't have long left and no one had bought it I'd certainly double check the listing and feedback to be sure I wasn't missing anything.
