Not sure I've tried the specific Windows 7 driver. The problem is that Windows (10) will auto-install the driver it finds. I guess I could uninstall it and try the Win7 version.

Not sure I've got the inclination right now though to go through the update process for the 4th time. :)

I had similar problems with W10 on a Pegatron A15X board, and an update to the BIOS sorted that , Lappy screen would go black(i.e. power settings messing things up) i5 2410 and Intel 3000 graphics

I can't say I blame you if you've tried 3 times already without it working.

Probably worth a go at some point though, (and obviously bearing in mind dcm's info below).

When Windows 8 came out, some machines (Dells, if memory serves) would black-screen unless they'd had a BIOS update, even recent (at the time) machines running Windows 7. I'd be interested to know if those machines running 7 still need a BIOS update to get to Windows 10, or if Microsoft have tweaked something so it's no longer a problem.

I've found that online and have downloaded the files, so I might give that a try some time. :)

Said m/c had 7 before hand, but that was transferred to a new m/c and it had Fedora on it at the time, and I used it for the W10 preview builds. Having looked around the web I came to the conclusion that many folks were having problems withpower, so I contacted the supplier (Novatech) to see if I could get a later version of the BIOS (apparently said board didn't work with W8 too well either) so I upgraded the BIOS from AMI 210 to 303 and voila it was fine

BIOS updated from 212 to 303. No new features but we'll see if there's any improvement .. I'm doing the Win10 upgrade again just now.

See you on the flip side! :D

And ................... welcome to the flip side. :D

No idea why a BIOS update would make the laptop screen work in Windows 10, but it does! :)

I believe it is down to the power settings i.e. switch off screen after x on battery, and y on power...

Glad it worked , now does your lappy fart when you close the lid? :rotfl::rotfl:
