Hi
I wonder if you could help me.
I am going to London in December and I am so confused about which airport to fly into. Is Heathrow, Luton or Gatwick the best
I have to go to a place in Russell Square near the British Museum so whichever is the best please.
I don't mind which I go to if they have good transport systems into London.
Thanks in advance

They all have good transport links into London so you'd be fine whichever you chose, but you may find Heathrow slightly more convenient as you can get the tube direct from the aiport to Russell Square (Picadilly line).0

Id count out luton if i were you , that will be a real ballache getting into central london from there, only do luton if budget is your biggest concern , otherwise the excellent advice offered by the OP above is your best bet0 -

Thanks so much for your quick replies . It is really confusing. Flying into Luton is about £45 cheaper than flying into Heathrow, but as you can probably tell I am not very aware of getting around London so I think that I will go to Heathrow.
It is brilliant that the tube goes to Russell Square from the airport, thanks, I didn't know thatJellynose0 -

I haven't used Luton myself but there seem to be trains from Luton Airport Parkway to central London about every 10 mins. What is the interchange from the airport to the station like?0 -

one every 20 minutes or so , takes 25 minutes to get tehre in luton traffic , in my experience i would chosse to not land in luton if i could0 -
Why not come by train? No taxes, and unless you are coming all the way from Aberdeen it works out a good deal faster than flying.0

I think Luton would be an OK option, especially as it's cheaper.
It's very easy to get the free shuttle bus from the airport (right outside the terminal) to Luton Parkway station. Shuttles are frequent (night and day) and take 5 minutes.
Then it's a direct train line (First Capital Connect) - regular service - into London.0 -

According to which part of http://www.london-luton.co.uk/en/content/2/944/by_rail.html you believe
the bus takes either 5 mins or 10 mins.
I guess it would be wise to leave plenty of time, especially when arriving at the airport to catch a flight!0 -

HI
I live in Belfast so I would need to get a boat, flight anyway if I were to get a train.
Thanks to everyone. I have booked to fly from Belfast to Gatwick.
I am flying in on a Saturday and out on a Sunday so I needed the quickest way in and out of London.
Cheers :beer:Jellynose0 -
