It's rare that you see insurers agree to pay for uneconomic repairs.

Which insurer are you dealing with? (Yours or the third party?)

Maybe try the opposite alternative and see if they will write it off??

(The valuation you have is NOT the market value!)

How can you be stationary and drive into someone at 35mph?
Do you mean someone drove into you at that speed?

If so, are you claiming via your own insurance company or theirs?

i was driven into someone at 35mph and i was stationary
    and I'm with octagon insurance
i heard that the average amount that they are willing to pay out is 60% of the cars value which on auto trader is approx 3300 giving an amount of 1980 which is way less than the 3k repair costs

You look to be claiming off Octagon?

If so cancel the claim and claim directly off the third party insurer.

    It looks too late then.

You are stuck with their decision.

But you can try appealing to the claims manager.

(Are they dealing with this, or has it been handed over to an accident management company/credit hire operation?)

i think I'm still dealing with octagon and they haven't handed it over to a third party
the garage still hasn't taken into account the damage to my alloys in the report either so they will be added making the total even higher
im gonna simply ask to speak to a manager and say i won't feel safe driving the vehicle after a re end shunt

It doesn't "help" you as far as the ultimate decision over a write off is concerned, as the third party is not dealing with your claim.

(All costs incurred by your insurer will be ultimately passed on to the third party to pay them back)
