New generation parking management cardiff red dragon centre

Had a pcn through post today through new generation parking management when I parked by the old pizza Hut to eat at chiqutos. I'm sure I read that it was 2 hours free parking but they are saying I was not registered on site, please could someone give me advice as £100 is steep for a fine

    Very odd as it says UKCPS manage that area.

    Have a word with the Centre and ask who has the contract to manage the parking as their website says UKCPS.

    Hint: There is a strong reason to ask the question.

  • There are two separate areas there, the red Dragon centre inside the barriers is run by one, which you get your ticket validated by an outlet to park for free, the other up the road by chiquito is run by these monkeys!!

    The website for Chiquitos at Red Dragon says follow the validation process.

    If the OP has been there and has a receipt to show they were there on the day, then there will be a "genuine customer" clause in the contract with the RDC. Chiquitos should cancel if the OP contacts them .... but they need to check who hired them if not Chiquitos.

    Does this sound OK?

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I wish to appeal the parking charge issued to me on the following grounds;

    The car park in question is not pay and display, and therefore there was no monetary loss for the company. The car park was also quite empty so the amount being charged does not reflect the ‘loss’, if any, of the company in any way.
    The car park is for use by patrons of the nearby, on-site facilities and restaurants. Your claim is that the car was not registered on site, so can you please prove that the driver of this vehicle was not using these facilities? Also you need to prove that upon entering, that the hostess did not make human error in requesting and registering the details as necessary? Please note that I am the registered keeper and not disclosing who was driving at this time.
    I would like you to provide me with a valid POPLA code as I strongly disagree with the charges being made. If the driver had used the car park to then leave the site, then I would agree this would be in breach of the terms of use for this location. However, the driver used the onsite restaurant, and was not asked for any car details, and so the only error was made by the staff working at the centre and not the driver of the vehicle. The driver should not be punished for this and you should dismiss this case.

    Why not use the tried and tested template appeal letter in the NEWBIES thread to which you were directed, rather than produce your own. No offence meant, but the template appeal works. Your appeal might not.
