Just got a call from my manager just now and she is saying u coming in next week. She is basically forcing me to come in. She just don't understand and keeps saying to me her sister has the same thing and is ok so I should be too! It's not like that for everyone is it? Cos mine ibs is bad
I'm Yankee Candle MAAAAAAAAD! :j x0 -
She has asked if you are coming in, to which you can answer yes or no. She needs to get cover if you are not.0

Sorry you are feeling so bad. Anxiety can definitely make IBS worse. It is difficult and I feel for you but employers can't keep non working employees on if there seems to be no return to work date in sight and surely without knowing what causes your symptoms you aren't getting better in any visible time frame. The job itself is now exerting stress on you I guess. Would it be possible to negotiate some kind of deal with them so that you can step down but be in line for the next job if well?"'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

EmmaAbby,
Please talk to your doctor about these feelings you have re wanting to end your life and how your anxiety is aggravating your condition.
Is there another Doctor at the practice you can see?0 -
As per another post on the first page, you get a bad reference and struggle to find another job.
Really? Even if they 'Loved' their job, had exemplary conduct for 6 months, were good at their job, just unfortunate they became ill (it happens)
It's not as if they suddenly wondered off hey without any reason in the eyes of an employer which is worse-- being off sick is following a process after all if I've learnt nothing at all
Lets not start bringing totally other threads into this as I was merely responding to this thread title.
OP - I'm another for seeing your GP again at this time, wouldn't mean to upset you before but merely posted as I'm a believer you can get back up, from anything, when your ready and fighting strong again

I'd been with my employer 7 years when I was sick, I was quite bluntly told after 6 weeks they can get rid of me on the grounds of being unable to do my job - this was only brought in under the coalition before that it was much harder to get rid of someone on medical grounds. I went to occupational health, they agreed with my doctor that I wasn't fit to work and it would be 2-4 months until I recovered enough to return, they decided to make me redundant in the meantime as the compensation I was legally owed was only about 2 months wages and they couldn't guarantee it wouldn't reoccur or be the shorter end of the estimate.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm not suggesting this will happen, but the question you asked is...What's the worst that can happen if you are let go?
Which my answer was in response to.
OP - As others have advised, if you're having problems with anxiety, and your GP is not being responsive, look at what other services are available, see if IAPT services are provided in your area, this is something you can self refer into, and should be more responsive to your problem.

I think it will prob come to me losing my job in the end and that kills me but do I get any help say? Jobseekers allowance? I was on it before I got this job. Also I haven't sent my sick note in yet to my manager say she sacks me will (if i haven't still sent the sick notes ) I not get them days I was off sick paid?
My head is alllllllllll over the place and i'm so stressed and unwell!I'm Yankee Candle MAAAAAAAAD! :j x0 -
If you haven't sent in your sick notes I am not surprised your boss is ringing you up and asking if you're coming in! You MUST send in your sick notes for your own good.0

If your GP agrees you're unable to work, the option most likely to apply would be claiming Employment and Support Allowance, that's what i had to claim after losing my job due to ill health. Please do send in your fit notes, it won't help your case if you haven't sent them in (in fact that's how i lost my job, well i did send them in but they said i didn't)I think it will prob come to me losing my job in the end and that kills me but do I get any help say?
