FOS form?
What is that
Financial ombudsman service.
If you are genuine here and no nothing in relation to putting in a claim then look through the site for the pages that clearly show this can be done by yourself and then you will have no fee to pay a PPI firm with that can be as high as 50%.0 -
dunstonh - many thanks for your message.
Well i am non the wiser and feel even more dumb as i have no idea what people are going on about and been accused of being a fishy poster, no wonder people have not tried to claim these unknowns.
Am i write then in thinking i can not do anything if my bank accounts were ? years old?
Is there not a straight forward forum post about what to do if no paperwork or information at hand?0 -
Steve Palimo, why are you still going on about me being fishy?
Many thanks guys but i have got nowhere in this, all i want is some help in understanding hense why i am asking?
As for reading, i take it you have not read my original post? There are over 1000 posts on this forum, you got to have a sad life to be able to go through all those posts to find something that may help hense why i am asking if anyone can direct me to a post or help me out.0 -
Where do i find the FOS form?0

Simply write to the institution. Tell them your name (and any previous names); your address and previous addresses; your date of birth. Tell them what kind of account you had (mortgage, credit card) and that you believe you were paying PPI on it. Then tell them why you think you were mis-sold that PPI. Ask them to investigate. Many thanks Tigsteroonie,
Is there no way i can find out what cards i have had in the past, i have had so many with balance transfers etc i have lost all trace of them.
Also, i am taking your wording of "institutions" is meant to mean banks?
Will they tell you what accounts you have had etc? I have nothing to tell me what type of account i may have had, only that i used to pay for them.0 -
The only ones the banks know about are the ones on their blacklist who they know put in dodgy complaints. No bank would have any pro-active relationship with a claims company.
? I have no idea what your meaning with this ?
Another example of someone being conned by a spammer.
? Thanks but i have not signed anything or talked to anyone yet ?
The PPI issue is about you having a complaint. Its not about having PPI. There is actually nothing wrong with having PPI. its all about whether it was sold to you correctly or not.
!I have no idea if i was, that is what i am trying to figure out!
To make a complaint you need no degree in law or finance. You phone the bank and give them the reasons for your complaint. Or you fill in the FOS form which is a questionnaire and prompts you for info. You send that to the bank. Or you write a letter to the bank which is short and to the point. You can bullet point your complaint reasons.
?No idea what a FOS Form is, never heard of it, how can i fill it out with information if i do not have it?
All a claims company does is fill out their equivalent of the FOS form by asking you the same questions and they post it to the same address you would use and then sit back and do nothing. A very expensive stamp if your complaint is successful.
?Hense why i am trying to figure all this out myself?
You are after the shiniest poo.
?No not really, just some advice?
Your data for the last 20 years is not in the public domain. So, no.
?You say to contact your bank?0 -
I just told you what happened with my claim Steve Pallimo, and I'm sorry if me being a 'newbie' having an op[inion on this forum is causing you to suspect something fishy......do what you wish mate its a free country. Like I said, I already had one refund from Barclays but then the PPI company managed to get me another sum from them for the same PPI!! So why wouldnt a newbie like myself want to share this experience?? Once again, so sorry if my newbie opinion has affected your life today0

Not affected me at all but you do not get two PPI payments on one loan I know that and again this makes you look like you are working within the Company that you promoted.
On a side note there is only one L in my surname Palimo0 -
