Windows 10 trying to upgrade !!!!

Brand name and model number? Seems that you machine needs a clean up, rather than a forced rush in to Windows 10.0

You can upgrade to 10, if doesn't work out, you can roll back to 7Money Plus was my main reason but perhaps I need to rethink in light of the fact it may now work with Windows 10.

Aspire 5750 so an ol laptop but one that I have tried so hard to keep clean and tidy

yes
you have 12 mths to upgrade free , if you leave it to after this period , the "free" disappears and it will cost you a visit to a shop and being relieved of between £99 and £149 (dependent on version) for a copy of windows 10 , just like the old days of win 95 , 98 , xp , win 7 and win 80
