EE contract...EE own the phone for the first 6 months!
This is a new T&C that EE told me as I was just about to upgrade my mobile contract...
Agreed a deal for an iPhone 6, and then he said he had to read some legal T&C's to me...
First thing he said was that EE are the legal owners of the phone for the first 6 months...
I stopped him there, and asked him to repeat that, and he confirmed that EE own the phone for the first 6 months of the contract.
I have never heard of this before, with any mobile provider, and he even agreed that it was a little odd, but he went away to speak to his manager, who confirmed that I am not the legal owner of the phone for the first 6 months, and as such, if I wanted to sell the phone, I was not legally entitled to...
Not too surprisingly, we didn't carry on with the deal!
Anyone else come across this odd T&C before?

So, is it only EE that are starting this new trend?
I really don't see the point of it...it's not like they are going to ask for it back after 5 months!0 -
Makes sense to me - if you renege on your contract they can come after you for the value of the phone. I don't see the problem with it for a legitimate customer?0
