  • I think its a great idea. I don't much like alcohol. Booze at a friend's wedding recently I couldn't drink because it just didn't taste nice to me. I would have been lots happier having a free coke/lemonade etc. Probably would have been lots cheaper for them too, so I think tokens sounds great (as opposed to booze on tables etc).

    I was a bit confused by your original post, the password method suggested to me the venue (such as a pub / hotel bar) was open to other people and that was the risk, so then limiting it to one person...how did you put that tactfully? Genuinely interested as I've always picked up the tab in full and on the last occasion there was an attempt at fleecing by the bar management.

    Of course your guests were honest, they were there to wish you well!
