You can try and opt out of the marketing, use a junk mail only email address and give a wrong telephone number but correct with the broker/insurer just before finally buying to try and mitigate the junk mail/calls but they will look for any way they can to legitimate use it as to get their pennies to make the service worth running.
Sorry to take this slightly off topic, but to your knowledge, is it possible to get a quote from a price comparison site for any general insurance product without the site selling your contact information on?
I have always felt that a lot of the nuisance calls we receive stem from data sold by the price comparison sites as I have often found there is no way to opt out of their T&C which includes allowing them to flog your details it seems0 -
