Second credit card app in one month - good idea?

Options
I've just cancelled a Natwest 0% card as it was useless to me as there was no way to use it to pay off either an overdraft or to make a payment to a loan account.

Hands up - it's my fault for not checking. It's been a few years since i had a 0% card and back then I'm sure most of them let you do that kind of thing.

Anyway, it's less than a month since that application. I did not use the card at all. Is it too soon to apply for another?

I'm thinking Mint 0% card as they do the cheques at 0% too, so I can pay off my loan with my current account and then feed my current account a cheque.

I know Mint is run by RBS as well as Natwest - is that an issue also?

I know Virgin also do these superbalance transfers on their 0% card but I'm reluctant to go with any MBNA product as I think they're shifty. When I had a Virgin card a few years ago there was no website to make payments and they seemed to make things deliberately difficult.

Anyway - in short is a one month gap between applications do-able? My credit rating should be fairly good. I'm a home owner and have a loan, and a credit card on my current account (plus the one I just cancelled).

I took out a secured loan in January but nothing else this year.

You should be OK I did several in quick succession earlier this year when trying to find enough cards to cover the balance on my Nationwide and it was OK. But I'd give it a good few months before you do any more. but one more shouldn't be a problem.

It's best to get an Egg Money card so you can transfer via that to your bank account. It's a pity you cancelled the Natwest card.
MBNA have had an internet site for quite a few years now you can pay balances via debit card all very easy. Have a look at the forums on
