Switching to Plusnet - taking a long time!

Hi
Has anyone else had to wait a long time for there broadband and phone service to be switched to PlusNet? I'm with BT at the moment.
Around the 29th I signed up with PlusNet. My status is still that they are checking the line. I spoke to customer services a couple of days ago and they did say another ten days.
Unfortunately the 14 day cooling off period is over.
Does anyone know what the cancellation fee would be?
Does anyone else think the it's taking rather long to set up.
Thank for any responses.

If you mean 29/7, then that is less than 3 weeks ago. A typical switch is 3 to 5 weeks, so another then days is not unduly long. It depends on the workload at your exchange.
If you have gone beyond the cooling-off period then the ETC will be as specified in the T&C's of your contract-normally a proportion of the monthly charge x the no. of months remaining.
Cancelling, as well as being expensive, will simply put you to the back of the same queue again, since it's BT OR who do the physical switch, regardless of provider. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I think they originally quoted 10-15 day switch. I've just found out it will work out just over a month to switch. I'm surprised its taken so long but if you say the morn is 3-5 then perhaps I should not complain.0
