I have a similar experience as Roger where I also received an email today from Avinity saying my parcel will be delivered tomorrow but unfortunately to some one else's postal address!!!

I also bought the policy by clicking the links specified in MSE and started the policy on 14th Sept. Waited till past 35 days and emailed insurancehelp@moneysavingexpert.com as per guidelines giving my policy number. I received an automatic email from MSE that I will get a reply in ASAP but nothing yet.

But this Avinity email came few hours back..

I don't expect any other parcel and Roger confirmed with his unique email that the parcel must be for the Kindle so I am now 100% sure same is happening ( Thank Roger for your post) .

However, since the delivery is attached to my email address, I managed to postpond the delivery to 4th November giving me some time to inquire both Avinity and Admiral and to get my Kindle delivered ( hopefully) .

This is very disappointing ....

I'm actually enjoying the process now as it's got to be a shoe-in for escalating to both the FOS and now the ICO eventually - what are they doing with our data? However, I would like to have the original offer to hand in case they go into full denial mode.

Note to self: always, always take screenshots and save T&Cs.

I bought my policy on the 7th of August. Used the MSE link to generate the quote then called their order line using the quote reference number.

I asked the Admiral salesperson if the system showed the kindle deal had tracked and all she did was bring up the website and read out the terms and conditions. She went away to ask a superior and came back to say they had no way of telling, but if I'd followed the instructions "it should do".

About 3 weeks later a knock from a My Hermes type car delivery company handed over a brown padded bag, no signature, no warning, no tracking... and there it was!

I'm sure I'll get one (or an equivalent) eventually. I'm now rather interested in how they're managing to mix up customer details and with whom they're sharing them.

Thanks for letting us know, it's reassuring that they are still sending them out. It looks like someone in Inverness is getting mine tomorrow though. :doh:

I also had an email with the wrong name and address on and can now see that the person named signed for the kindle this morning. has anybody had this happen and actually received a kindle themselves. Really not happy.

Well what are the chances of that. As I hit send there was a knock at the door and a kindle! Wonder where in the country the person was that had an email about my delivery. I am in Suffolk and my email was a delivery to Lancashire.

It's an oft abused phrase, but I am actually laughing out loud. Literally as I was reading your reply - yes, in the literal sense of literally - the doorbell rang and guess what a dpd driver handed me. :rotfl:

OK, I now have a Kindle Fire HD 6 charging up. Bemused, but belatedly happy. Have faith and ye shall (probably) receive.

I had a white Kindle Fire HD 6 delivered today too.����

I have let the delivery address attached to my email to get it delivered tomorrow so he will be surprised too..

At least I didn't have to stay on the phone inquiring ....
