You would know if you were using WMC (So you are not) and although you don't need WMP it will still be there in W10...
    So you have no worries.

One of the reasons I'm putting off Windows 10 is that I frequently use Windows Media Centre for watching live Freeview TV on my computer screen using an August USB HD decoder. It works so well, I would really miss that.

Have you tried Kodi? I don't have any machines with digital tuners to test.

I haven't, no. I'll be sticking with W7 for a long time yet but I'm sure there will be WMC substitutes that play nicely with HD decoders if and when I ever do downgrade to Windows 10.

Well Kodi is a far better program than WMC.
I would suggest giving it a try anyway.
  • yes kodi with the filmon addon ,

there is a version that already incorporated most of the addons , its called TVMC http://www.tvaddons.ag/tvmc-windows/ with this you would be using your internet for watching tv and films , not an addon usb stick
  • ok , just tested that d/load , yup its a good one , run it , it opens with "click here to configure" , click then go to programs /addon installer/vid addons and click film on

up and running and watching freeview within 2 mins
