Windows Media Centre on W10

Someone told me that windows media centre will be removed during the upgrade to W10. Apparently, it will be replaced with a DVD player app to play DVD's. Can someone please explain the implication of this. Will it stop me from playing music and see my photos on my laptop. Or am I getting mixed up with windows media player - not sure if it's the same thing

What version of Windows do you presently have?
Are you presently using Windows Media Centre? Or (as Custardy intimates above), are you confusing Windows Media Centre and Windows Media Player?0 -

I think as Custardy said, I am confusing WMC with WMP. It's becoming clearer that they are different. I think I need to do a bit more reading0 -
