Pipex retention deal

Options
We've been with Pipex since 2004 and currently pay £24.99/month for their 8Mb max service.

We could get 16Mb from Sky for only a tenner a month on top of the TV subscription, so I phoned them up to ask for the MAC. I was given two offers:

1) A tenner a month knocked off (so only £14.99) but a new 12 month contract
or
2) The next three months free of charge whilst they restructure their prices, but run the risk of having to pay around £19.99 a month after that (instead of the offered £14.99).

Took the latter...means we can get free BB but still have the option to cancel at the end of November and go cheaper.

So if you've been with them as long as us and are paying full-price for your package, give them a call! :)

Aye, the Tiscali take-over was also a factor in phoning up to cancel. But with this deal not starting a new contract, we can cancel at any time so there's no harm in waiting to see what happens!

The only thing is, I forgot to ask for confirmation of the deal in writing :o So I'll phone up again tomorrow - if they say we weren't meant to be offered that, I'll request the MAC and give it to Sky.

And if they say we are locked into a new contract...well, they can just try it...
