Can I get a refund on a used Tesco Hudl 2 bought yesterday

Hi,

My children bought themselves a Hudl 2 each with their birthday money and they are terrible!

They take hours to charge and the battery life is awful, they also won't download Fifa 15 which is the main reason my son wants a tablet. They got them to take on a 4 hour road trip and I don't think the battery will manage it. I can't work out if it's ok to return them under the 14 day Tesco refund rule as they have been used. Please could someone advise me.

Thanks

  • according to Tesco , fifa 15 can be run https://www.tescotechsupport.com/feature/playing-games-hudl-2/

blame the download on the android store not Tesco.

regarding the battery life , hell most laptops won,t even last 4 hrs , if the "road trip" is in a car , why not just get a USB ciggy lighter charger , or even a splitter to 2 , if both kids want to play.

4 hrs staring at a tablet ? the mind boggles ,

Have you checked the settings on it to ensure theres nothing draining the battery?

I have a hudl 2 and I find it better than apple batteries by far. It certainly lasts 4 hours through use and at least 3-4 days on standby.

If it is such an issue, you can get portable chargers/power banks for relatively cheap. Definitely check the settings first though.

    Define "hours to charge" ?

Battery life will depend on what your doing on it, some apps will drain it faster and if you have loads of apps open the battery life might decrease.

Most devices take hours to charge, although it can vary a lot depending on the device and charger - if you're charging from a normal PC USB port it will take anything up to 4 times longer than some dedicated chargers.

Switch on power saving mode, switch off unnecessary keech & the battery life will be extended. Also hate to point it out, but if you bought a tablet to play FIFA 15 then I think you need your head checked, games are power intensive & there are significantly better options out there.

  • Thanks for your comments, but no-one has answered my question :(

I just wanted to know if I'm entitled to a refund from Tesco as I'm not happy with the product.

No, you are not entitled for change of mind refunds
You can ask, it depends on Tesco policy.

Your post is titled "used Tesco Hudl" - can you just clarify that you bought these brand new from Tesco?
  • They're brand new and purchased online but have been used for a day. I'm going to try and take them back today. Tesco phone services have said I can get a refund under their change your mind policy but their Facebook customer services have said I can't.
