    HSBC do not use the same 'calculator type verification' as Nationwide & Coop. They are very different.

    You are right though, HSBC are very slow in processing applications. This doesn't automatically their offerings bad, or the entire bank "horrible".

    Whether they would be of interest for tomxlisa is a different matter - with no income, they are unlikely to get accepted for anything but a basic HSBC account.
