RMNJ Conveyancing Solicitors

Options
Hi folks,

Having been let down by a local solicitor who was highly recommended, I am now thinking of using RMNJ.

However some people seem to say they are efficient and some say they are slow.... has anyone any recent experience to add?

I've also seen someone say that they charge "£2 for printing, £2 for photocopying, £2 for posting letters, etc"

Is this true and is it normal?

Thanks in advance for any up-to-date feedback anyone can offer

Don't know about them specifically but that isn't normal.

I expect some clients have had smooth quick conveyancing and some have not...

As for the charges, read their terms of business. They can only charge what they say they will charge.

But some 'cheaper' conveyancing companies hide their 'extra' charges away in small print.......

and no, charges like that are not normal, but are typical of some apparantly cheap firms.

We have been using RMNJ for both our sale and purchase and they have been great. Always respond very quickly to any queries, charges very clearly set out in their T&C. I honestly can't fault them.
They have sent paperwork by email so that we can respond to it quickly and also by post when necessary, always with an SAE.

They do indeed charge extra for a lot of things. So if your purchase is unusual in anyway or your expect problems, I would find a normal fixed price solicitor.

They also charge you extra if you ever contact them to discuss something. They charge in 15 minute intervals, so a quick call could be expensive

I agree with Rosie, I used them for my last purchase and there was a bit of mix up but overall they were pretty good, reasonably cheap and I would use them again.

Using them for my current purchase and to be honest not impressed. I have been doing alot of chasing and they seem to leave bits that need chasing up alone without chasing despite deadlines looming.

The good thing is that they do respond relatively quickly when hassled and their contracts are done via email so you can post the signed copies without delay

  • Just used them on our house purchase (exchanged last Friday) and had the final bill through. I got a quote from reallymoving.com and they were the cheapest.

There's nothing on the bill I wasn't expecting. We've had numerous phone & email conversations with our conveyancer and haven't been charged for them. Searches were what we expected to pay, and our conveyancer has been excellent - quick, polite and professional. Would definitely use again.

The pack you get from them is upfront about what they charge and good in general on what to expect on timelines when buying a house (we were FTB).
