Would like to up grade my old phone, and thought a camera one would be good as I have young children.
Still have some credit on my old brick phone- is it right that I can take the sim card out and put it in the new one.
Don`t use the phone much, only when I need to contact people, don`t know how to text.
Will i be able to print my photos out? or will the quality be terrible?
Sorry not up on this stuff.

Hi
I'd advise popping-along to your providers website and have a look at the cameraphones on offer (PAYG and or contract).
You can use your sim card in any phone but the phone has to be unlocked to all networks, this can be done for around a tenner.
I'd highly recommend samsung as a choice of cameraphone, the reaon I say that is from years of internet/usenet and forum reading and to a high degree of personal experience.
You can get cameraphones for around £50-£80 but these are quite good pictures but when viewed on your PC screen and or printing the quality is not as good.
If you don't fancy looking on websites ... you can visit your providers shop and they will give good advice.
You can print pictures out very easily by connecting your cameraphone to your PC via the datacable and running the software on your PC (sometimes provided by the phone you choose (CD)) - check these are included in the box or you will have to buy seperate (expense).
Again I highly recommend samsung, even the cheaper samsung cameraphones are of great quality with ease.
If you run into trouble just post back and I'll happily help

3 phones are good (and quite bulky) but the network is not right reliable for all.
If you live in a borderline 3G area you're going to be getting dropped calls when you venture from 3G to 2.5G area due to Three's inability to handover from 3G to 2.5G.
The call quality can be a hit/miss also depending on the strength of your 3G signal and or the actual phone. Some Three 3G phones are well known for poor call quality!
If you live/work in a good Three 3G area - then your onto a winner but if not be cautious ...
On Threepay you also lose any unused minutes if not used within the month - after this your calling credit is used until you top-up again and then it all goes again.

Personally I'd buy the Nokia 3220 Camera Phone:
It is on Orange, but if you Pm me I will unlock it for you so you can use your current sim. The phone is only £49.99, and it's one of the cheapest quality camera phones on the market.
Yes, there are better quality ones out there, but you will have to start spending nearly £200.
If you need any more help then just Pm me.

Thanks for that, was looking at SAGEM MYC5-2, would the Nokia 3220 be a better bet?

Both phones have in general the same specs apart from the obvious (flip/non-flip).
I tend to lean towards Nokia due to the very reason that Nokia phones are popular and you can find things for them everywhere.
The Sagem phone does look good and the picture quality your going to get is the same as the Nokia - so it is going to come down to personal preference of whether you prefer Nokia style OR Sagem flip-phone.
I honestly don't like the lights flashing on the Nokia 3220 (being a serious bloke I am), so in reality between them two I'd go for the Sagem as it looks nicer (too me)
Hope this helps.Proudly Banking & Saving With:

I must admit that I tend to stick to Nokias for the following reasons:
1) They are usually more hard wearing
2) If you have any problems, a Carphonewarehouse Repair Centre can repair Nokia's very fast
3) All nokias are easy to use, same menu systems on all
4) Much higher resale value
The Nokia phone varies in price, but the highest I've seen it is around £100 on other networks, so the Orange one is a good deal...
Your choice!

Think i will go for the Nokia 3220 on orange.
But if I unlock it, can I still then use the sim card that comes with it?
Was on BT cellnet before which is O2 now I think, but if I`m on orange I can get cheap bogof cinema tickets. Just want to use old sim card to use up credit that I have, but with orange do I have to top up every month,to keep phone live, sorry but know very little about these things. Hope to have more interest when I have a nice phone.
Also will I be able to upload photos onto my pc to email? Would I have to buy an extra cable?
Thanks again.JAN Grocery Challange £200

When you goto the Orange Shop, ask if the phone comes with the datacable. If they don't know they can open the box to check. I've only ever bought one phone that included the datacable in the box (to my surprise) and that was my fave (Samsung).
With a datacable you just plug the one side into your phone the other into a usb port and run the phones software. Sometimes the CD is in the box and sometimes you have to download via the net - let us know
