Passport Signature Query

Hi, hope people can advise me correctly.
My husband recently booked a family holiday to which we fly out in 5 weeks, my passport has always had my maiden name on so he booked for me in my Maiden name. We all needed new passports so to make it easier I just reapplied for a new passport in my maiden name to match the tickets. knowing I can renew my passport for next time in my married name at a later date.
When my passport came back I noticed in the signature part that I had signed my married signature which I have used for 14 years out of habbit.
I rang the passport office who advised me that it is rare that the airline would stop me flying but to check which I did. Im flying out with Easyjet who said the same as the Passport office that they dont check the signatures just that the passport name matches that on the tickets.
I know Im probably just over worrying but the holiday is fast approaching and its my 2 childrens first time on a plane Im just scared that im going to be stopped from flying out due to this.
Has anybody had a similar problem with their passport or do you know more about this situation and where I stand.

A signature is just a signature - a (somewhat flawed but nevertheless still widely used) way of proving that you are the same person that the passport was issued to. There's no requirement for it to even be legible.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
I just didnt want to get to the airport in the early hours and end up with 2 upset little kids because their mummy was not allowed on the plane.
I wasnt sure also how important the signature was esp with all the security checks with recent events, Ive only flown a handful of times so totally clueless.
Thankyou for responding.0 -
Are you saying that your passport is signed with a different name to the printed name? I'm slightly surprised that it was issued in that case, so I can only conclude that the signature is so illegible that it's impossible to be sure that it's not the same as the printed name (my own is pretty unreadable).0

My name on my passport is my Maiden name but by Error I signed as my married signature which is readable as a name i.e married name.... its not a scribble.
I was confused as to why they issued it.
I dont know how much of an issue it will cause at the airport they say none but cant help but be worried.
My husband and children are travelling with me with the married name I signed on their passports and I can take my birth and marriage certs.0 -
It's perfectly acceptable to sign whatever you want as your unique signature, it does not have to resemble your name at all.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

Even if it resembles another name not just a scribble and it clearly resembles the people name that I am travelling with they'll recognise it as theirs which is my married name just not on my passport name?0

I've never known any European airport staff look at a passport long enough to even acknowledge there's a signature on there0

Im not bothered about coming back lol...just want to be able to fly out from Manchester :-)0

It'll only be the check in staff that actually look at it - that is if you're physically checking in.
They only glance at it at the gate to check the name matches the boarding cardChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
