Of course, the correct marking would have made all the difference?0

Jeez, some people have too much time on their hands, so an insignificant difference in font and fill would have made all the difference?
Silly EE, if only they had known the solution to faulty cells was so easy...====0 -
In many other cases where incorrect marks have been applied to various electrical products, it has also been found that the accompanying certification has been faked. The Register article mentions that EE has so far declined to produce the certificates for inspection.0

Would the certificates be much use? I believe it is possible to "self certify"?0 -
There's no way I'd ever take the risk of leaving my EE Power bar charging when I'm not home. Nice pocket warmer for winter though.0

CE is always self certified by the manufacturer of the product. If EE are declining to share their copy of the certificates then they might not have them (very wrong) or maybe they don't actually trust them (the manufacturer created the certificates but did not actually do what they should for CE certification).Would the certificates be much use? so the issue with the 'mark' is that its clear instead of being black.
oh deary me, what a massive mistake, this surely make the power bar explode.0 -

I thought it might have been the placement (insufficient space between letters). I have a Samsung with outline CE markings.....
I agree that it is irrelevant to the exploding issues.0 -
I've yet to use my power bar but despite receiving a text to return it, I've not had a chance to drop it back into the local Orange / EE Store yet.
I have since received a letter off them asking me to return it and although I won't be given a replacement power bar in return, they will cancel my 'lease agreement' for it and give me a £20 voucher to be spent in the on-line EE Store on accessories.
I haven't had a look at the on-line store yet but I'm guessing a £20 voucher won't afford me a great range to choose from without having to apply additional cash to the purchase ;o)0 -
