Mobile Phones Direct
Some good deals taking through Talk Mobile, but I had a contract application declined!
Reason? I already have a Vodafone account and Vodafone don't allow multiple accounts! You would have thought MPD would know this, but I've had the run-a-round due to them being clueless. Though Vodafone would happily allow me to add further contracts to my single account and asked me if I'd like to add another account. I politely declined.
It might save someone time, though another option would be to take the account in say a partners name, as long as they don't have a Vodafone account. Apparently only the billing come from Talk Mobile and the service through Vodafone.

What you've been told used to be untrue. I currently have 3 Vodafone and 2 Talkmobile contracts (amongst others). People on the end of the phone often give any answer just to fob people off.
It is possible things have changed recently, since Talkmobile appear to have severed their links with CPW and become purely aligned wiith Vodafone. I would find that surprising, however - and it won't have been the dealer's fault. I would expect that even if this were basically true there are exceptions to the rule. I would add that Talkmobile have always been more restricted on the number of concurrent contracts they will allow in a certain period than the other networks in my experience.0 -
Have seen a couple of well priced talkmobile contracts but been put off by the endless complaints, so i don't think i'm prepared to commit to 2 years with them, plus the Vodafone signal is not as good as it should be.0

I have never been declined for any credit/contract in the recent 15 years and have perfect credit files, but was declined recently (allegedly by Talkmobile) for a basic £7.50 contract through MPD .
USELESS.0 -

USELESS.
Thanks for that and I have an A1 credit history.
Vodafone stated a new account was attempted in my name and that an initial credit check started. But despite MPD stating they followed this up when I supplied my Vodafone mobile number, Vodafone deny any follow up and categorically state they wouldn't decline a new account with my 'excellent' record with them. Mystery deepens and I believe my proposed MPD account was cancelled by them and is showing as 'cancelled at customer request'. I was being messed about and informed them I would decline delivery after Thursday if attempted.
USELESS? At the very best. I'm seeing it as a lucky escape and I have myself read the bad reviews.
Things may have changed since MPD have recently been appointed with the Talk Mobile contracts. CPW were ok and no issues in the past.
I contacted Talk Mobile to see what the problem was and they confirmed I was one of several phoning up with similar issues with MPD.
