Not deducted doesn't necessarily mean not paid.
I'd be contacting the tax office and find out whether NI credits are being earned.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Is he under the threshold?0 -
Thanks for your reply,I do not think he would be eligible for credits as he is not on any benefits or pensions and his wage is above the threshold.0

Your partner should contact payroll in the first instance to check what has happened.

Thanks for the replies, looks like an error at his employers accountant over £2000 to pay back !0

The company should pay it for him and dock his pay a monthly amt til he catches up. As it was their mistake (via their accountant).
Unless you have the cash and prefer to get ahead of it. Just make sure that he gets his NI credits.0 -
He will have to pay it back monthly,I do not think he will get NI credits as he is not on any benefits or pensions.0

He should get NI credits for WORKING. You get credits for working, not just benefits. Otherwise how would working people get a state pension? He did work, but the credits may not have registered as they werent paid?
Check if he has credits for the period worked where the payments were not taken0 -
Sorry I had a look at GOV.UK and the eligibility listings did not seem to include someone working full time not on benefits/tax credit etc not yet pension age so I thought it looked like he would not be eligible but it is quite confusing!0
