Gotta love 208 and Horace Bachelor.
I doubt if many here have ever heard of the Infra-draw method, and fewer will have made fortunes with it. Indeed, I don't think dear Horace could be included among those either!
He taught the world how to spell 'Keynsham,' but it might have been simpler if he'd lived in Bath!0 -
Thanks Sebadee, those 3 houses in Chippenham look good. I will defo add Chippenham to my list of areas.0

I'd say Chippenham ('Nam, to locals
) is by far best for transport links to Bath/Bristol and beyond, by train or car. But value for money you'd probably do better in Melksham or Corsham - they just lack a bit in connections. It's a bit 'bus or nothing'. Trowbridge didn't used to be too terrible, in the right places, either.
Some of the villages around Chipp are lovely, too - but possibly at a premium? Used to have wonderful community spirit (but I moved away many years ago!).Mortgage - £[STRIKE]68,000 may 2014[/STRIKE] 45,680.0 -
I grew up in chippenham and now live in Bristol. It's a really lovely town with excellent schools. When your daughter gets a bit older you will appreciate the good rail links to Bath and Bristol so she can go in with friends.
The drive to Bristol isn't too bad, although I'm sure you've seen the queues on the m32 in the morning... Which is bad.
Also, traffic into Bath is horrendous, but that's in Bath centre itself so you'll have that wherever you come from (and from Brislington is probably even worse).
The trains, as others have said, are really well linked and quick.
The only think is areas like cepen park may be a bit out of your price range? Calne is about 15 minutes on from chippenham and much cheaper (with lots of new build estates) and pewsham is halfway between Calne and chippenham and quite reasonable. Goood luck on your hunt!0
