That reminds me, TopCashBack, better than ANY loyalty card. (It reminds me because I order our H&B stuff online via TCB, get 10% cashback or thereabouts, points from H&B which translate into money off vouchers ...)

You can also buy instore and get something via TCB but you have to register online and I just haven't got my head round it yet.

I think it would certainly set you apart from the competition as I haven't heard of any other takeaway having a loyalty card. It might be useful if you looked at the idea in more detail (what the loyalty card would offer) and what would be forgone in terms of your current offers being discontinued and then asked what customers would prefer.

(I'm going on the assumption that both won't co-exist with the offers as they are now, as there will be a cost to you of running a loyalty card.)

Would be even better if Holland and Barratt actually paid up.

I've used either Quidco or TCB over the 4 orders I've made with H&B and on each occasion they've declined my cashback despite having and submitting correct details such as order numbers, times and even getting a confirmation email from either cashback site at the time I'd used them to make my purchase.
I've no idea why- cookies are cleared etc and I make very sure to only have one window open when shopping, additionally I've not had issues like that with any other online store- maybe once but not again but with H&B it happens every time. I can only assume they don't want to pay up.

Gosh, that is a pain, isn't it? I have never had a problem with H&B and TCB, they seem to confirm really quickly and the money just follows. And I'm not nearly as fussy about clearing cookies as you are ...

  • I use several loyalty cards - Tesco, Nectar and Boots but Tesco is the one I use most. I like to build up my Tesco points on purchases such as groceries, Tesco Direct, Wine by the Case, Living Social, Shoppers Thoughts etc and I am a Christmas Saver so I get my vouchers every November plus I top up my savings throughout the year. I make the most of my vouchers though and use them for days out, meals out, rail cards etc so that I maximise my money (eg £2.50 in vouchers gives me £10 in meal tokens)

I gain points on my Nectar card through my electricity/gas bills, plus any purchases through Virgin East Coast rail travel as well as Homebase and the occasional visit to Sainsburys. I took advantage of getting a 2 for 1 main meal deal with Pizza Express for 1000 points this year - had a meal with my husband, son, daughter, son in-law and 2 grandsons and used 4 of the vouchers, bringing our £110 meal down to £30!!

I usually buy toiletries etc in Tesco but when I DO shop in Boots I use my Advantage card then can use the points later on to buy something I want/need or for a gift

Now that my husband and I are both over 60 we have free bus travel in Scotland so clever use of vouchers from Tesco means we have some lovely days out at little or no cost!!

Used to use Tesco a lot because you could get 4x the value back in Johnsons vouchers - but they've stopped that deal now and guess what I don't shop at Tesco much. Boots seems like one of the better ones and I do use it, because they often send me double points vouchers - though it must be built into the product price anyway, so I'm really just retrieving the money I've paid them.
  • I buy very little at Holland and Barrett yet every few months I get a voucher for £2.50 - so now I buy more there :T.

The Co-op is quite good :).

I often buy quite a few bits at Superdrug, yet it's taken me years to get just £1 off :(.

Boots has cut back heavily on the benefits for older people and, since I can never find anything in their unlabelled and unorganised aisles stuffed with all the things you would never want to buy, I've stopped going there .

As for Shell, their points are worth a tiny fraction of a penny, and I have no idea how I ever get anything for them despite frequent annoying emails .

    Happy shopping!
  • I shop mainly in Tesco and use the Clubcard Boost scheme to pay for days out and other treats. Nectar is pretty much useless although now and again I find I've accumulated enough points to take £1.25 off my shopping if I happen to be in my "home" store.

Most of the posters here who have a Tesco/Sainsbury/XYZ credit card as a way of boosting loyalty card points would be better off with a straightforward cashback card. I dumped my Tesco CC for this reason, after realising I could get 1% from my Barclaycard Amex and 0.5% from Nationwide or Barclaycard Visa. (There are also some very good short-term offers.) That's without the possible benefits of slow stoozing on a 0% card... I used my M&S card for this and got points too. :D

I was in Sainsbury recently using conditional spend voucher, the chap who was being served before was asked "Do you have a nectar card" he said "No".
I thought - what a waste - his bill was £92.00 !!Moreover, it didn't seem that unusual either.
I with my nectar card, had a deduction of £6.00 when you spend £40.00, he paid in full, I will have about £20.00 in points to spend at Xmas, he will have to pay in full.
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard
