Therefore the belief that "SNP supporters don't like them" is quite simply a false statement and belief.
Maybe it should be on Myth busters
Yeah. The very first thing Scottish people who just love the English people do is to sign up to the SNP.0 -

There was no disclaimer or small print on the ballot paper that said I must hate the English in order to select the SNP choice.
I made the choice with no consideration to anybody's nationality whatsoever.
I do not discriminate against anybody and believe in everybody's free choice to vote for whom they wish.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

You can repeat this till you are blue in the face and pass out it won't matter.... Some posters prefer to think that the SNP hate the English, it suits their rhetoric0 -

the SNP are in denial about the significance of 'anyone but the english'
and the support for selecting a song about killing the english as one of the events most worthy of celebrating as an anthem0 -

Yes, it's just lazy. And easier to think that rather than accept the truth.. ie that the SNP are just a normal, successful political party and a lot of people like 'most' of their policies, oh and their overall performance in devolved government over the last 8 or so years.
My husband is from Portsmouth. He's an SNP member. And he isn't any more keen on Salmond ( his personality, and he calls him Jabba ) or 'Flower of Scotland' ( pass him the sick bucket ) than Clapton is. But he likes everything else they stand for policy wise when compared to Labour and the Tories. Even the independence part. Well I assume he does since he voted Yes.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
My husband married a woman from Plymouth ,( myself to be precise) I do happen to LOVE Salmond , not so much Sturgeon, hate flower for Scotland ( I walk out of places when they start singing it)
He is a SNP member and voted yes, I voted yes but can't see me ever joining tbh
But hey the SNP hate the English and SNP Baaaaaaaaaad0 -

Hating the English isn't a stated policy of the SNP as a party, but its been pretty hard to overlook in some of your supporters.
I actually thought the SNP started out quite well with Salmond originally stating Scots should support England (rather than turning out in bars in London en masse painted blue and hollering for their defeat on the odd occasion they make it into a group stage), like a normal country.
That all rather fell by the wayside when the SNP began worrying they were going to lose the referendum and quite wanted the votes of racists alongside the other ones. Exactly like UKIP.
In any case, the behaviour of your "cybernats" is utterly disgusting. They're an embarrassment to Scotland and, rather a shame for the human race.
Reading their bile smeared all over every internet article or twitter feed they can find rather makes me not want to go to Scotland just so I don't encounter one of them. Regardless of what they might think of my accent.
The SNP would do well to publicly distance itself from them and the other hardliners. Rather a shame it hasnt imo.0 -

Ironically if your cybernats had just kept their traps shut you might have carried the day. You'd think it would be in the interests of the SNP to silence them.0
