SNP’s going anti-business, so let’s woo companies away from Scotland

If Nicola Sturgeon wants to treat England as a foreign country, then she must expect a response
A ban on genetically modified crops, despite its importance to Scotland’s large food and drink industry; the introduction of costly, politically correct gimmicks such as a business pledge that includes scrapping zero hours contracts and a more diverse workforce; state-directed research that even Jeremy Corbyn might regard as a bit old-fashioned; and, of course, the political instability that comes from the constant threat of a fresh independence vote.
Perhaps not very surprisingly, the Scottish Nationalist government in Edinburgh is increasingly imposing anti-business and anti-technology policies on the country.
That is of course up to them. It is, however, also an opportunity for English regions, and of course Wales and Northern Ireland as well, and one they should not be squeamish about taking.

Significant costs for any business in moving so would need to be compelling reasons for them to do so - but I expect many already have contingency plans and likely will be double careful on any expansion and investmentLeft is never right but I always am.0

Just look at snp treatment of shale which is IMO frankly bizarre given the state of the Scottish economy.
Snp mantra though - power above all elseLeft is never right but I always am.0 -
I so love the obsession with the SNP on MSE, its rather refreshing p0

Scotland per se does not interest me - what does is how such a proportion of a population can be led so easily by emotive rhetoric over and above rational reasoning.
I just hope rouk is not so easily lead as would despair of the future of me and my children if the snp esque approach was repeated in rouk - some horrific combination of corbyn and ukip. Urgh.Left is never right but I always am.0 -

What on Earth do you mean? There clearly already is an ENP. They're running (or trying to run) Westminster right now. for the benefit of [STRIKE]their cronies[/STRIKE] the electorate. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

By reducing the deficit , cutting public spending and running the economy based on free market principles, furthermore encouraging individuals to be responsible for their own actions and fortunes, removing the reliance of millions of people on the state.
Fine by meLeft is never right but I always am.0 -

Indeed there is.

That's fascinating. I expect that party's the reason neither UKIP nor the CUP have adopted that name.
It's too late for the ENP trying to occupy an overfilled niche which already has the bigger two parties. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

And people wonder why the English think that SNP supporters don't like them.0 -

Let me reassure you that as an SNP voter, I have no prejudice against English people whatsoever.
Therefore the belief that "SNP supporters don't like them" is quite simply a false statement and belief.
Maybe it should be on Myth busters:wall:
