Fault With Marks And Spencer Shoes

My hub bought me a pair of M and S collections shoes with the insolia feature last month. I have not worn them just tried them on because the bottom of the shoes are very slippy. However he has mislaid the receipt and I wondered if I might be worth contacting their customer service to see if I could return the shoes to them to show them the fault and get an exchange or refund. I don't want to take them back to the store without a receipt but they should know about the fault because they could be dangerous.

You can exchange without a receipt, they can give you a credit note if there's nothing you want at the time.

I don't think slippy soles would be classed as a fault. I remember you had to score the bottoms of many high heels as the soles were slippy, it was the given thing.

    I don't think so either.

Leather soled shoes are very slippy when you first wear them.
    It's not a fault.

I'd try to return them without a receipt on a 'changed my mind' basis and be happy if I come away with a credit note.

Bear in mind that they currently have a sale on at the moment. If they have been reduced, and you don't have the receipt, they will only give a credit at the current selling price.

I took the stickers off and threw them away.

Why not take them to your local charity shop? Seems a better solution than throwing them away.

No I meant I removed the stickers from them and put the stickers in the bin. So M and S wont allow me to take them back at all will they?.

M&S are one of the best with customer service, I'd suggest you take them back and see what they say.

    I doubt it.

Why did you remove the stickers before you knew whether you were going to keep the shoes? You ony tried them on before deciding the soles were too slippery.

You may decide it's worth a phone call to ask if you can return a pair of shoes without receipt or stickers on but, as I posted previously, I wouldn't even try going down the 'they're faulty' route.
If you live close to a store and it's not that much of a hassle for you to pop in and ask, I'd do that.

Op is not the purchaser anyway so M&S may refuse to deal .

But as posted worth asking in store .
