I'm using the free version without any popups, adverts, grime scans, nothing - all turned off. Quiet as a mouse, and far better than mse

And your point is what exactly?
A vulnerability was found, an update produced and Windows 10 installed that update automatically, thus closing that particular doorway as soon as it could.
Two fold,
1) Vulnerabilities, exploits and zero days exist even for W10
2) Note that the RCE vulnerability elevates privilege to that of the user so if you are running as a standard user then the exploit would not have full admin privileges and mitigates the problem.
If you have window locks and an alarm your neighbour is far more likely to be burgled than you are if they don't have those items.
Oldie but goldie:
Security is a process, not a product.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
I have found WONDERSHARE installed on my Win 10 laptop - is it safe and how do I get rid of it - it doesn't appear on my program list !!0

That is a video editor so you will have downloaded and installed it at some point.0

maybe on Win 8.1, prior to updating to Win 10 - but no longer wanted/needed - no uninstaller !!0

Even REVO doesn't see it !!0

Very foolish to be running any deep scanning/deleting/cleaning utilities on ANY new operating system until the publisher has certified it to be compatible. It could mangle your computer.0
