I'm using the free version without any popups, adverts, grime scans, nothing - all turned off. Quiet as a mouse, and far better than mse

And your point is what exactly?

A vulnerability was found, an update produced and Windows 10 installed that update automatically, thus closing that particular doorway as soon as it could.

    Two fold,

    1) Vulnerabilities, exploits and zero days exist even for W10

    2) Note that the RCE vulnerability elevates privilege to that of the user so if you are running as a standard user then the exploit would not have full admin privileges and mitigates the problem.

If you have window locks and an alarm your neighbour is far more likely to be burgled than you are if they don't have those items.

Security is a process, not a product.
Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.

That is a video editor so you will have downloaded and installed it at some point.

Very foolish to be running any deep scanning/deleting/cleaning utilities on ANY new operating system until the publisher has certified it to be compatible. It could mangle your computer.
