  • Thanks ES, I'm glad it's not just me that plans this far in advance.

I just need to be this organised so that we can actually do the things we want to, this is forming good habits though because this will really help one we have our own home & can continue to plan like this & get rid of the mortgage.

Where are you off to on your next holiday then?

I LOVE HOLIDAYS! Don't think I could sacrifice them at all.

Yes , always pays to plan ahead. I am off to Dominican Republic in February 2017 and Centre Parcs in June with OH, 2 daughters and son in law plus my darling GD who will be coming up for 2 years old. Will probably do another week somewhere with OH in September depending on how his pension finances turn out. Or we may do a big holiday, I love the sound of Canada, in 2018 when I will be retired too.

We did have to sacrifice holidays when our girls were small and we only had one salary coming in. I found that tough so took on a Saturday job so OH could look after DDs and my wage was holiday fund. Then we moved down to south west and did not go abroad again until youngest DD was 4. Was to USA to celebrate my dads 60th and he died 2 years later so was last holiday we had with him. Being debt free is important but you have to live a little too.

  • Dominican Republic sounds brilliant.

Never been to Centre Parcs either but always hear good things about it.

Can't wait for Canada, so excited!!!

Aw that's nice you got that holiday & were able to make more happy memories with your Dad for his 60th before he passed.

This will be my first time abroad with my Mum, next year she will be 62! She only went abroad for the first time when she was 60 & loved it.
