How often to pester solicitor?

Hi all,
4 weeks ago our vendor had an electrician and gas man go around the property to do a report, we were told she gave the report to her solicitor not long after. A week and a half ago we sent out solicitor a bunch of questions (as a result of initial paperwork being sent through). We have yet to see this report and have had no replies to the questions. How often should I be prodding our solicitor about these things? I have asked her at least 3 times about the reports and once about the questions... but nothing so far. I can't work out if our solicitor is a bit rubbish or the vendors one is... or both?! I mean really, 4 weeks to send a report over? What are they doing, growing the tree for the paper??

You've had 3 replies to your emails saying nothing has happened, or you've had no answer to 3 emails?
I'd always ring as it is easy to ignore an email.
In general, I would never wait more than a week to ring if you are waiting for something. If it is urgent then I'd be ringing every/other day.
Otherwise, no need to bother them.
You are paying them remember!0 -
I would always call first and follow up with an email, rather than using email as the primary method of communication.0

Firstly you are not pestering you are asking legitamate questions. Ask your solicitor what method of communication he prefers.
Speak to you solicitor, if he won't take your call then arrange an appointment. Ask clearly for the information you need, then ask for a the scale for receiving it. If you have not received it within that timescale call again until you have.
You need to make the solicitor prioritise you case, he will have 30 files on his desk. You are paying him so get him to do his job in a timely manner.0 -
Madning. Ours loves the word " issues" WHAT issues? Can you explain in detail?????The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0

Thanks all, one snotty email later and we have a reply, yay! Magically she managed to find the documentation too.... except now not all the questions have been asked/answered.
I would usually telephone, but email whilst at work is just much easier for me, she does usually reply to my emails, but it has just been with 'we are still waiting on replies from the vendors solicitor'.
The problem now is that she didn't bother to ask the vendors solicitors to find out about the extension planning permission/building regs. The vendor has ticked that there had been no work done to the house, when it's clear there has been, just not by her. I had pointed this out to our solicitors, twice, and with the info our surveyor told us to check (building regs for two interior walls taken down and planning permission for a kitchen extension) except our solicitor completely negated to ask them, argh!0
