well in the end yesterday I managed to put away some washing, put on another load and put that out too.
Go to the shops and buy some cheap shower gel and bits we needed and not spend on things we don't need.
    Bought some flour and marg.
    Made pizza for dinner
    Made fridge cookies
    Did some gardening
    and went to bed!!

Today, I need to....aw where's my list gone.....

Oh heck! I'm exhausted just reading this thread! (and just a bit depressed) must get organised. Yesterday I got up early to welcome friends dog into our house for 3 days fostering while friend in hospital for checks, then peeled 2 cats off curtains  who now hate me! We did used to have a dog ourselves but she was (bless her) rather old and slow unlike this puppy. Did some ironing with nervous little dog on my feet! (she discovered cats not too friendly and don't want to play) Spent rest of morning keeping animals apart from each other. Did a wash load and hung on airer to dry. Made 1 pt of yogurt (now where is that recipe for frozen yogurt) Made lunch, played in garden with the dog. Put dog in house, cats out and went to work for 3 hours. Came home fed animals, walked dog, ate dinner, phoned children and collapsed in heap!

Not a good day, must do better tomorrow.

    Hi hun :hello:

Hope you're feeling a bit better today *hugs* ... I know how awful it is to sit there and feel totally inadequate when you want to be achieveing the same sort of stuff as everyone else, and I know Queenie never meant anything bad in starting this thread, and sometimes seeing what others do can be a positive thing and provide a little motivation, but when you feel rotten it does make you feel worse :(

Yesterday was an "okish" day for me but today has got off to a bad start, not helped by having major access problems with this site, and now I've rebooted my PC that's playing up too :wall: ... I'm all for heading back to bed right now and giving it up as a bad job :(

If you want a chat my PM box is open (says she feeling guilty at having unanswered messages sitting there still :o ) and I'll try to reply soon as i can :)

Glad you're feeling better hun :)

I didn't mean to imply that it was Queenie's thread causing you to feel miserable, apologies if anyone misunderstood that, but just that sometimes things can trigger or make you feel worse if you're already feeling crap anyway. I only used this thread as an example as we're currently posting in it, but it could be any number of threads or posts, or even stuff on tv etc, all beyond our control that can have an effect on how we feel.

I've managed to load up the sink with hot water and got a few things soaking to wash, but apart from that not really done much today :o

Sorry I misunderstood :( To be honest there's nothing about this place that makes me feel inadequate, only challenged, uplifted and frequently amused :D I love this place, it's been my refuge over the last few days.

Anyone ever read Superwoman? I'm feeling like she did when she sat down and designed how to make a reasonable living space out of a garage :D

We'll get there, he's just bitten my head off again for making a suggestion re a job agency he could try, so I'm retiring to the kitchen for the afternoon.

Queenie - your post didn't make me feel guilty, just inspired!

I'm fairly new here, and definitely feel at home among you Old Stylers.

yesterday I (bearing in mind I'm out of the house all day):

    1. Cleared off and cleaned some kitchen shelves, throwing away all the lids to long gone jars, and matching remaining lids to remaining jars, putting some jars for recyling, as I simply had too many. This is in preparation for getting to those blackberries still in the freezer from autumn! (Queenie, I have heard of your blackberry preserve, and will shortly check in recpies index to see if it's there...if it isn't, would you be so kind?...)

    2. Sorted and ordered plant post ready for sowing more herbs this weekend.

    3. Made a batch of peppery lentils to have for dinner with brown rice, for lunch at work today, and one frozen portion to go on a jacked spud at later date.

    4. Tended my indoor seedlings (if that counts, talking encouragingly to them, blowing them to increase their strength and rotating them)

Then of course I did the daily things like dishes, finding video tape spare for the millions of Iranian films that are on TV this week (I like World cinema), watching Desperate Housewives...

But a lot of time at work was spent on here (yes, I know, NOT very professional!), and thinking about meal planning. Though I'm pretty good atbudgeting etc, I really could do with proper meal planners, so have decided that's what I'll do tomorrow night, ahead of shopping on Saturday. That way I'll only buy what I need...and that's all thanks to you lot, inspiring me to take a sightly less random approach to my meals!

I woke up at 5.10, thought t was 8.10 because I didn;t have my glasses on. Got up and got ready, then realised it was actually 3 hours early and went back to bed.

Got up again, had my brekky and a coffee and went to a lecture about stats. Came home, did some work about intracellular messengers, washed up, sorted out my lunch so I could just stick it in the micro later.

Did the fire check for my staircase (I'm responsible for fire safert in return for a discount on my rent), went to sign the book to say I'd checked everything. Picked up my post and swiped for a formal dinner next week.

Went out for 2 more lectures (Hominin evolution and Adaptations to extreme environments) then straight from there to my (very) part-time job in the library. Shelved books for half an hour, came home, microwaved my lunch (home made chilli with rice & cheese i'd already made).

Went out to a maths class then straight frrom there to my friend's room to catch up with her and see a magazine article she was in. Then came back and made my tea (carrot & lentil soup) while doing some past questions for my suipervision.

Was just microwaving some cheesy bread to have with my soup when i realised my supervision was an hour earlier than I had been thinking it was, so abandoned everything and ran off to that.

Came home and had my soup and an apple (and a biccy), and am now on the internet brefly...about to head out to my study group at a local cafe...after which I have some essay planning to do and tomorrow's packup to make. I made enough soup to have some for tomorrow's tea as well :)

    Came back

    Hi Loadsabob

I think the Blackberry Preserve recipe you are after is the one I made and had a huge supply to use up! Queenie very kindly put up a few suggestions as to how I could use it. I have checked on the search facility and can't find a copy of the recipe so will add it asap, and in the right place (this for Squeaky so as not to ruffle feathers :D ) This also makes as a raspberry preserve. It is not like a spreadable jam tho more a fruits in syrup but very yummy on ice cream, yogurt etc.

Anyway been off topic again  Yesterday I wore my new magnetic necklace (supposed to give you more energy) and sure enough managed to take dog for long walk, bake bread (I know in a breadmaker but you still have to be organised to do this!) Made yogurt (so easy why didn't I do this sooner?) Prepared a salad for evening meal with salmon and new potatoes, 2 wash loads, ironing, vacumning, more pacifying of disgruntled cats - puppy going back to owner today so hopefully they will forgive me soon :D. Oh and went in to work!
