UK resident foreign Car Company.
Options
"UK residents are not allowed to use a foreign registered vehicle on UK roads. The exception is when a UK resident:
is employed or self-employed in another EU member state
uses a EU registered company car temporarily in the UK for business purposes"
EU vehicles brought into the UK can be used for six months in any 12-month period Its the responsibility of the driver to prove how long the vehicle has been in the country. Producing ferry tickets can do this."
Example is this right ?
Van Company based in Spain. Operates between the UK and Spain.
Employee is Resident in the UK.
He can drive the Van in the UK because he works for the Spanish Company.
What about the 6 months Ruling if it spends 6 Months in Both Countries because it driving Back and Fourth.
What are the rules in practice on a UK resident being able to drive a Foreign car like this ?
Does the registration of the Car need to be in the Name of the Company. Can it be in a personal Name but with cover letter ?

The vehicle would obviously need to be registered to the S.L., it couldn't be registered to you because you're a UK resident...
You mention car, you mention van, this all sounds quite vague? Surely a transport company with all insurances and licences in place would know all this?0 -
Vague because I still trying to get the Facts we operate from the Uk but Insurance and operating costs would be a lot less Insurance would be about 1/3 of what I am paying now.0

Okay, putting aside the minor details like you state you operate from the UK so won't have a Spanish address so you won't be on the padron anywhere which you'll need for a residencia, all of which you'll need to open a residents' bank account / register a Spanish car or van / obtain insurance / pay your Suma / pay your IVA / pay your social security / tax - etc, etc, etc...
Where, for example, would you plan to be domiciled for tax reasons? You do know you'll need to list out all of your worldly assets to the Spanish tax man? Would that make you a non-dom in the UK?
What happens when you get stopped at one of the (many) Spanish police checkpoints? When they clock your goods and/or passengers, they will be expecting to see your Spanish driving licence - you won't get away with an NIE endorsed UK one. Anyway, good luck getting your UK licence endorsed - when I did it, it was six months before I got my licence back.
If you ARE taking passengers as per your other thread, then if you're clocked operating without an SP plate by any number of other drivers - they'll probably just stone you, or set fire to your vehicle - and then report you to the GC.
Oh, and the insurance may be cheaper, but look very closely at the cover you get.
Nope, can't see any issues at all with what you are planning...
